The Galactic Senate: polls & voting for March 2001

Nothing gladdens our heart more than to see democracy in action in the science fiction and fantasy world. If you feel the same, dear user, then here's our current and past online polls, as voted for by many a fine fellow (you too can vote, but choose wisely) ...

SciFi - dead or alive?
SFX Network looks like it is shutting its virtual doors. Stan Lee Media has just gone bust. Science Fiction Age, the US's main scifi magazine has shut down its very impressive print publication. By 2050 will science fiction be doomed to be a forgotten footnote in a historian's notebook. Or is there life in the old SF rocket boosters yet??

SF is history. New SF authors can't get published. SF web sites can't make any money and are closing down faster than a speeding bullet. SF magazines can't attract advertising and are running into problems all over the shop. Yep, science fiction is doomed to be footnote in a sociologist's notebook fifty years from now

There's life in the old SF puppy yet. SF has always gone in cycles. It still dominates the movie and TV charts, has millions of fans worldwide, and it ain't history ... it's very much the future. SF rocks large.
