Inconvenient

Having the gateway to hell in my back garden is getting to be a real pain in the neck, Katherine thought testily. Was it ever? Looking at it now brought a distinct redness to her pale cheeks.

The damn thing had appeared two weeks earlier and had been nothing but trouble ever since. For a start, the lawn would never be the same again. The centrepiece was a huge gaping hole with blood and entrails as border decoration.

And the poor woman couldn't remember the last time she'd had a good night's sleep. Her usually pretty, slender face now had worry lines traced across the top and coal bags dumped in the middle.

Grey strands were beginning to appear in her midnight hair. All because the demons wouldn't stop screaming and flinging carcasses around every night. There was something else. Something which wound her up a treat. Her home?

Her home was a bloody shambles! Inverted crosses etched on the wall. Stupid little demon faces in all her favourite pictures. Gore oozing out all over the place. It was enough to make Katherine bloody furious.

She would have murdered any guest inconsiderate enough to leave ring-marks on the table, never mind something turning Binky the cat inside-out on the kitchen floor. Inconsiderate, that's what it was. A complete lack of manners and common courtesy.
