All right, so 'Mission: Impossible' is just outside or barely in our remit but as with a lot of espionage-based shows, its also a favourite of SF fans and also one of the most recognisable theme tracks of all time. This CD divides into the 60s version and the latter 80s versions. If you already own the MPC CD 'Music From Mission: Impossible' then you'll want this one cos this covers tracks not used there.
From the 60s, there are suites from the episodes 'The Contender', 'Submarine', 'The Killer', 'Takeover' and 'Underground. From the 80s, suites from 'The Plague' and 'The Bayou'. The two page cover only lists as far as 21 tracks, missing out on naming the next 13 tracks but sounds like from the latter series as well. There is also an interview with actor Peter 'Jim Phelps' Graves which pre-dates the films covering some of his background, both series and what he was up to then. Lalo Schifrin conducting the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra for a special 6 minute version at the end which adds a touch of jazz funk to the proceedings.
I should point out that the two page cover features pictures that were laid out on the table when Phelps was selecting his team of Cinnamon Carter, Rollin Hand and Willie Armitage.
Music to savour, so excuse me while I light that match and play it again...
