Have you ever wanted to fire up MS Word and start typing away in a Star Trek Next Generation typeface. Buy Star Trek in the USA - or Buy Star Trek in the UK No? How about a barbarian-like script, or a Battlestar Galactica font, or even that weird NASA font with missing horizontal stresses on the A's. Heck, you might even like to vary your next shopping list by using the ruthless Terminator font, or go all Earthforce on us with the famous Babylon Five font. Well, citizen, your dream has come true. Your next love letter in Klingon can now feature a cruel bump-head typeface too. At least, as long as you use Windows, not Mac. You'll find these science fiction fonts in zip format across the way at http://desktopstarships.com/font.html If your mind hasn't been blown by the new found SF-tastic nature of your word processor, then you'll also find some WAV sounds at http://desktopstarships.com/sounds.html you can download and set as your system sounds. Rather cleverly, some fan has recorded all the computer-speak bits from Trek - you know the kind of thing, Warp Core Breech Imminent, Intruder Alert - All Hands On Deck. Just the thing to set as a default sound for incoming email. My, won't you be popular with your work mates when you go to lunch, and your PC starts doing a tinny-mechanical imitation of Gene R's wife. There's also some desktop themes at http://desktopstarships.com/themes.html - mostly 3D renders of Trek Federation vessels, which you can use to set as the background image on your screen. See our own freebie zone if you need some technical advice on how to do this (it's down the right hand side).
