of the New Phantom Menace Sequel
Rumours have been spilling out of Skywalker Ranch about the Episode
II movie, tentatively entitled The Convergence of the Clones.
A teenage Anakin Skywalker and Queen Amidala are said to remain
central characters against the backdrop of the much talked about
Clone Wars.
In the movie, the Republic faces a new threat from the Instem
Arm of space, a legion of clone warriors - their armour vaguely
reminiscent of the uniform worn by bounty hunter Boba Fett.
The force behind this endless stream of soldiers is of course the
corrupt maniac who is aiming to become the Emperor, the duplicitous
Senator Palaptine.
Also said to be starring in the movie is a young Chewbacca (wookies
live for an average of 200 years, so they tend to hang around for
a bit), and the wookie's dangerous home world, where Obi-Wan and
the other characters flee the advancing clone legions following
the collapse of a key Republic star system.
The movie starts off with a major space battle, which according
to our sources, is going to be on scale unlike anything that has
been seen before, special effects-wise, using some new FX techniques
that Lucas has kept in stealth mode especially for the movie (a
new form of CGI rendering, perhaps?).
This space battle is a surprise attack on the Republic fleet which
was described to us in hushed tones by our source as 'Pearl Harbour
in a massive Orbital Dock facility', and will be a death blow from
which the Republic will find it near impossible to recover from.
Only the brave but outnumbered Jedi Knights are left to hold the
line as the near limitless ranks of clones push on deep into the
Republic's space.
Yoda and Mace Windu are said to see some action, leading the fight
back from a never seen before Jedi warship which is already said
to have sucked up an immense amount of computer graphic processing
power in an attempt by Lucas's creatives to push the envelope of
film goers' expectations of what is possible in a movie.

I am really glad to hear that Mace Windu is set to play a bigger
part in the next Star Wars Film. Samuel Jackson is one of the greatest
actors in America at the moment.

The original movie was cool. One of the main reasons I went to see
PM was because a good friend of mine actually starred in it. He
had a minor role as a Naboo guardsman, which really hyped the movie
up to me.

Phantom Menace was the worst film ever. this HAS to be better, can't
possibly be worse. I hope Jake Lloyd never makes a another film
ever. He was rubbish. They all were. Shame on GL.

Wow, this sounds incredible, I guess lucas has a thing for 2nd installments,
(I consider the Empire Strikes Back to be one of the greatest films
of all time.) Man this plot sounds awesome, I sure hope we see a
fight scene where Yoda shows why he is "The Master". PS...Phantom
Menace was NOT that bad, just some less than perfect dialogue at
times.

I think Jake Lloyd was a bad chouse and G.L. did make him too...whatever.
And they had lots of on planet stuff (too much if you ask me.) but
it still was a good Star Wars movie. That's my op.

The Convergence of the Clones? That's terrible. Hope it's a rumor.
I am happy to hear about a possible Chewbacca appearance. That would
be pretty cool. Get more info!!

Episode II has the potential to be the second greatest film behind
Episode III which we all know will be the best. I just hope Lucas
listens to his undying fans and gets rid of that Jar Jar creature.
I mean cmon, even Obi-Wan said it himself to George Lucas, "Master,
why do we need that worthless creature?"
Johnny T. 22/09/2000
Whatever the second movie is like, I know I'll enjoy it. Never saw
Phantom Menace until it came out on video as I was sure I'd be disappointed.
But I wasn't, despite the second-rate actors. The visuals and the
script won me over. Advertise
