II Heaven
As Episode II finishes its last day of shooting in Spain, tempers
were said to be running high in the burning southern Spanish heat
between Hayden Christensen (alias Anakin Skywalker) and Natalie
Portman (alias Queen Amidala).
The cause of the discomfort, apart from the extreme Seville sunshine,
was the thousands of Spanish Star Wars fans who mobbed the production
when they heard the Phantom menace sequel shooters were in town.
At times they overwhelmed the set security and shooting had to be
delayed.
George Lucas and the cast members on the shoot eventually calmed
the crowd by staging an impromptu fan signing. The stores in Seville
were cleared out of Star Wars-related books, magazines and even
toys which the population rushed to present to the generous film
makers for their scribble.
Shooting is now going on in Tunisia, which always seems to be drafted
to stand in for Tatooine. The bad news is actor Ahmed Best was spotted
on set, which means that yoosa cansa be expecting morsa of Jar Jar
Binks in the second movie.
The stars in Tunisia were ALSO saddened to hear that Shelagh Fraser,
alias Skywalker's Aunt Beru in Star Wars I, has died at the age
of 77.
LucasFilm confirmed rumours that one of the precious complete scripts
for Episode II had indeed been stolen, and has warned that any magazine,
print or web, that runs stories from the nicked script will be prosecuted
for handling stolen goods. Lucky for us, they missed our Peal Harbour
story last issue, or we might have received one of these legal visits
ourselves.
Even we don't know the identify of the script thief. The Pink Panther
for all we know, as he/she must have been really good to evade Lucas's
strict measures. The complete script is been jealously guarded,
with actors only being given the pages that their dialogue appears
on, and all scripts snippets have been signed in and out by a special
script security force.
One things is for sure, we'll publish more of those rumours at
the 'Nest when we get them.

If we're lucky, Jar Jar Binks might accidently get chopped in half
by a light sabre. I'd pay to see that.

Man, you are one sick puppy. Would you pay to see R2D2 put in a
trash compacter too?
Dustin. 01/10/2000
Are they offering a reward for the return of the script? I could
search the Net for evidence of who stole it, and make a fortune
when I recovered it for George.
Ed Bear. 02/10/2000
Personally, I'm hoping the script shows up on the warez channels
so I can figure out whether to bother with II after the pile of
"dung" that was I.
Girac. 08/10/2000
Whomever stole the script will be hard pressed to pass it along,
if that's their intent. I'm sure GL will press charges to the fullest
extent of the law on this.
